Town and Gardens Ltd installed this extensive Greenroof in the South Bronx for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development. The 5 story building was gut rehabilitated and contains 25 residential units. The Greenroof covers 2000 sf with light-colored pavers interspersed and was designed for maximum environmental benefit per dollar spent.

The rootbarrier is brought to the roof and installed. Frames are built for the paver installation.

The lightweight soil mix is craned up to the roof and immediately distributed so that no part of the roof is overloaded.

Jute netting is installed to prevent wind erosion. Sedum plugs are planted through the netting.

Pavers and gravel are installed and the finished greenroof is watered in thoroughly.
