This residential greenroof in North Salem, NY was installed using pregrown sedum mats. The mats where supplied by Xero Flor America LLC and allowed for a fast installation and quick coverage. Very stringent weight restrictions (maximum weight allowable was 12 lbs a square foot ) had to be taken into consideration for the design of this greenroof.

 

After the existing gravel is removed a separation fabric is installed.

The finished greenroof right after installation complete with lava rock gravel, chosen for its extreme light weight. The plants are expected to reach at least 90% coverage within one growing season.
