Town & Gardens is a landscape design, build, and maintenance firm in New York City creating bespoke gardens, rooftop terraces, and private outdoor spaces across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. For over 30 years, we have designed and built projects, from Greenwich Village brownstone backyards and Cobble Hill townhouse gardens to high-rise amenity terraces in Tribeca and Long Island City.
Our work favors adapted plantings chosen for New York's Zone 7b winters and rooftop wind exposure, materials that weather well, bluestone, ipe, aluminum, porcelain, and layouts built around how a space is actually used through the seasons. Every project accounts for structural weight limits, waterproofing, drainage, irrigation, and DOB and landmarks approvals where they apply.
The result is a garden that reads as part of the building rather than an ornament on top of it, and one that looks better with time.
